Drive - Google's Cloud Storage App

Access, create, store and share documents, spreadsheets, photos, audio and video. Google’s new addition to Google Apps, ‘Google Drive’ currently supports 30 different files types, which you can open directly through the browser, even if you don’t have the application installed on the device you're using.

Google has revamped the current Google Docs into Google Drive, enabling you to access and share anything stored on your Drive from any device with the only requirement being an Internet connection.

Once Drive is available, Google Apps for Business accounts will receive 20GB of storage for each account. Which compliments the 25GB of storage provided for each mail account.

Google have advised that Drive is an open platform and they are working with third party developers to add additional functionality to Drive such as being able to send faxes or edit video directly.

For those people worried about backups and data recovery, Google have advised Drive keeps track of every revision or update for 30 days and you can choose to save a revision at a set time forever. I personally can’t wait to go on a test “drive”, this addition to Google Apps really keeps Google as the benchmark for cloud solutions.
